Textile Trip To London Gradate Fashion Week

Textiles 2We were very fortunate to be contacted by Fashion Minority Alliance which is a platform which aims to build a diverse and inclusive fashion industry and long-term equity for Black & Minority talent.

They offered us tickets to this year’s London Graduate fashion Week, where our textile artists had the opportunity to explore the work of recent fashion graduates from across eight universities.

In the showcase students were able to chat to the graduates and ask about their ideas and inspirations behind their collections. Students then saw the finalist’s collections modelled on the catwalk.

During the show a recent graduate spoke about his journey, and the inspirations behind his clothing range, drawing on his cultural heritage as a basis for the celebration of diversity, a theme often chosen by our students. We also attended a talk about careers in the fashion industry and Syenna even got nabbed for a quick interview!
