I love mathematics and most importantly I strive to make a positive difference in the lives of every person I encounter.

My love for Mathematics started in primary school as I was a collector of history and geography books. This one book contained the History of Numbers Systems, and it detailed the Babylonian and Egyptian number system.  

This fascination with numbers aided me in doing well in primary school and secondary school mathematics.  It also taught me that we can do well in both reading based subjects and mathematics. I excelled at both Maths and the Humanities for A level which meant that I had a tough choice to make at University.

I ended up choosing Mathematics Education at University as being a Maths Teacher would create the greatest impact considering there were several young people in my community who wanted to enrol in colleges but were unable to do so as they had failed mathematics.

Being able to make a difference in the lives of those I grew up with, my past students and my current students is a great privilege and being a Maths Teacher is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
