We believe every girl has the power to shape her future with confidence and ambition. Careers education here is more than planning for a career, it’s about nurturing talent, unlocking potential, and building the self-belief to aim high. We empower our students to explore opportunities, develop skills, and dream big, so they leave us ready to lead, innovate, and thrive in a world full of possibilities.

In 2024, Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich gained the prestigious Quality in Careers Standard, demonstrating that our careers programme meets all the gold-standard criteria set out in the Gatsby Benchmarks – the eight key measures that define world-class career guidance. 

Careers Education

Our Careers Curriculum spans Years 7–11 and is delivered through PSHE lessons during coaching time, complemented by drop-down days, workplace visits, and dedicated assemblies throughout the academic year. Every student receives a Unifrog account, enabling them to track their careers education, explore opportunities, and access resources and guidance.

Students also participate in a high-quality work experience placement, giving them first-hand insight into the workplace, helping them develop essential skills, and supporting informed decisions about their future pathways post-16 and post-18.

For Post-16 students, we offer a bespoke programme coordinated by the Sixth Form team and delivered by their coaches. This includes work experience, career talks, application support for courses, UCAS guidance, CV writing, and a wide range of enrichment activities.

We work closely with local universities and business partners to provide a broad and meaningful careers offer, in line with the Baker Clause.
