Mr D Beresford

Mr Beresford is an Assistant Principal at Harris Girls Academy East Dulwich. Having been born in East Dulwich & Peckham area he moved to near Bath as a child. Mr Beresford attended the University of Kent to study History with a year abroad in the United States (Purdue University) where he fostered a love of American History in particular. After graduating Mr Beresford worked as a teaching assistant at the school he himself went to, specialising in the SEN department before then going onto Durham University to complete his PGCE. Mr Beresford then worked at an all boys grammar school in Kent before finally joining Harris Girls Academy East Dulwich in 2011 as a teacher of History. Since then, he has held the post of Head of History, Head of Faculty (Humanities) before becoming an Assistant Principal in September 2022.

Proudest moment in education. Watching students grow into successful young adults that can go onto achieve their goals always fills me with a sense of pride, especially if they have chosen History! Also being part of the teams that have helped secure two outstanding  Ofsted judgements has also been a proud moment as well as helping contribute and shape the wider community of this area and school.
