Exceptional GCSE results for the Class of 2026
HGAED is delighted to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our Y11 students who collected their GCSE results today. Despite their educational journey being disrupted in year 5 due to the covid-19 lockdowns, this cohort demonstrated remarkable character, courage and conscience. 74% of students achieved Grade 4+ in English and Mathematics, with 55% of these students awarded at Grade 5+. A third of grades were awarded at Grade 7+.
Jo Young, Principal said: "We are so proud of the achievements of the Class of 2026. They have acheieved exceptional outcomes which open the door to bright, exciting futures. We are delighted that many students continue their post 16 studies with us and we cannot wait to see what they accomplish in the future. A huge thank you to our remarkable staff whose passion, expertise and care have supported our students relentlessly since year 7. Our parents are carers have tirelessly supported their children and I hope they feel incredible proud of the wonderful young people their children have become".
Eleni, our Deputy Head Girl, acheived outstanding GCSE results which are a testament to her hard work, resilience and commitment to excellence. Demonstrating exceptional academic success, she achieved eight Grade 9s and two Grade 8s across her GCSE subjects, placing her amongst the highest-achieving students and reflecting years of dedication and perseverance. Throughout her time at HGAED, she has been recognised not only for her academic strengths but also for her kindness, integrity and determination. As Deputy Head Girl, she has been a positive role model for younger students, consistently demonstrating the Academy's values through her leadership, compassion and commitment to supporting others.
The Academy's leadership team praised her accomplishments and contribution to school life. Jo Young, Principal, said:
