Student volunteers introduce new plants to our Peace Garden

Students Excited to Bring New Peace Garden to Life

Students have been eagerly rolling up their sleeves to help create HGAED's new Peace Garden, an exciting project designed to provide a calm, welcoming space for reflection, wellbeing and connection with nature. The Peace Garden project is funded by Southwark's biodiversity fund and we are very grateful for this sponsorship. 

Working together, students helped select and plant a variety of flowers, shrubs and plants chosen specifically for their ability to support biodiversity. The carefully selected planting will help attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, while creating a vibrant and sustainable environment for everyone to enjoy.

The project has given students a fantastic opportunity to learn about the importance of protecting local wildlife and caring for green spaces. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment have been evident throughout, and they have taken great pride in seeing the garden begin to take shape.

The Peace Garden will become a special place within the academy, offering students and staff a peaceful area to relax, reflect and appreciate the natural world. We would like to thank all of the students and staff who contributed their time and effort to this wonderful project.

We look forward to watching the garden grow and flourish in the months ahead, creating lasting benefits for both our school community and local wildlife.
