Nicole Scherzinger Wows in 'Cats'
Nineteen lucky students were treated to a matinée performance at the London Palladium on Wednesday 4 February. Andrew Lloyds Webber’s CATS has returned to the London theatre after a 10 year hiatus.
The trip was a reward for students in Year 9 and 10. Unsurprisingly permission slips for attendance on this trip were given in record time!
The CATS production is headlined by Pussy Cat Doll’s singer Nicole Scherzinger, who brings her feline brand to the role of the ‘Grizabella’ Cat.
The technical production wowed and surprised the audience with pyro-technics which made us jump on several occasions. The well-known songs were performed by an extraordinary cast who came into the audience throughout the show.
Students were given an exclusive opportunity to meet two cast members after the show. It was a chance to ask questions and see them out of character without their makeup on. They revealed it takes an hour to apply hair and makeup for their character and that they perform the show eight times a week. Phew!
Students gave it a 5* performance so if you have the opportunity get yourselves down to the Palladium before tickets sell out!
