School Meals

Our meals service, which includes our brightly coloured canteen seating area and an external snack bar with picnic benches, is run by Innovate.

Click here for up-to-date details of our menu and price list.

All transactions are paid for with a biometric system using thumb prints, in order to reduce waiting times in the canteen at break and lunch time.

For queries about free school meals, Parent Pay issues or catering please contact Ms Ramadan at main reception 0207 732 2276.

There’s a variety of tasty, healthy dishes of the day choices on a three-week cycle, which includes meat and vegetarian options.

We also offer a daily range of regular favourites including a trattoria pizza selection, pasta pots with vegetarian and meat toppings, jacket potatoes with hot and cold fillings, seasonal salad bar, chicken and vegetarian wraps and paninis plus fresh fruit, yoghurts, sandwiches, baguettes and hot and cold drinks.

All of the drinks served are ‘school dinner friendly’ which means that they have very low sugar content and have less than 150ml of juice content, if they are flavoured. Free, fresh drinking water is available at all times and students can also purchase bottled still or fizzy water. We do not allow students to bring any fizzy drinks, juices, milkshakes or sodas on site and these will be confiscated if they are seen by staff. The only drink that students may bring to the academy site is water.

Free school meals

Your child may be entitled to free school meals. Even if your child does not wish to eat free school meals, but is entitled to them, it's worth applying because for each child entitled to free school meals the Academy could receive funding to help with tuition, resources, coaching and extra assistance.

Find out if your child is entitled to free school meals by accessing this link. The meal value is £2.60.

There are many benefits to claiming free school meals. Firstly, your daughter will receive free meals that have a retail value of £462 per year. Secondly, there is a huge reduction on the price of some trips for students who are eligible for these meals. Thirdly, there are many things such as Maths and English tutors, other trips, study support and the Health Hut, for example, that the Academy is only able to provide for students because of the funding we receive which is linked to free school meals.

Therefore, the more students who claim these meals, the more funding is received.  The way we use this funding is all published in our Pupil Premium reports which can be downloaded from the Equalities and Additional Information page of our website. Your daughter is eligible for free school meals if you or your partner gets:

  • Income support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income of £16,190 or less, as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs
  • Working tax credit run on-paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for working tax credit
  • Universal credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7400 (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

Applying for free school meals is extremely straightforward. We use a website based tool. You can find out if your child is entitled to free school meals by accessing this link. Please contact academy reception on 020 7732 2276 to speak to Ms Ramadan who can take you through the process.

Once you have applied, your application will be checked and we will be notified in about 24 hours as to whether you have been approved for the benefit. We would strongly encourage you to do this if you are eligible.
