Nice Things People Say About Us...

Here's another nice email we received today from a Peckham resident.

Today I received your newsletter through my door, which contained an email from a member of the public, praising one of your students.

This reminded me of an incident with one of your pupils last summer, which I wanted to write to tell you about. I was struggling to walk down my street whilst carrying a large amount of heavy and unusually-shaped boxes. A young girl was walking past me and she stopped and offered to help me carry them, an offer which was gratefully accepted. She then cheerfully chatted with me as we walked to the end of the road to drop the boxes off.

I asked her which school she went to and she said Harris Girls' Academy - this was my first interaction with anyone from the school and it left a very positive impression.

Her name was Lola and she was in year 7 or year 8. After reading the email in your school leaflet I wanted to write in to tell you about this lovely pupil as she is clearly an excellent ambassador for the school and is setting a good example for other young people around her. Her kindness and friendliness that day were much appreciated so I want to give her the credit she deserves.

You are clearly doing an excellent job with your girls - keep up the good work!

Kind regards,

Here's a nice email from a member of the public we wanted to share with everyone.

I wanted to give praise to a student at Harris Girls' school who went out of her way to help me and my family after school one day this week. I wanted to make sure that the school praise her for her helpfulness and community spirit.

My daughter is five and attends the neighbouring Harris Primary East Dulwich. As I was coming up the hill past your school I was pushing my bike in one hand, my son's buggy in the other whilst getting my daughter up the hill on her scooter with all of our school and shopping bags.

The student saw we were struggling and asked if we needed help and pushed the buggy a little way for us meaning we could get to the zebra crossing safely to cross over.

I can't thank her enough and wanted to let the school know what a positive role model she is.

With thanks and regards.

Bus

Here's an email we received from a passenger on the 343 bus.

"When I got on the bus on Tuesday afternoon (8th Sept 2015) at 4.50pm it was nice to see 10 Harris East Dulwich girls calmly and politely enjoying the bus ride on the 343 through Peckham on through the estates towards Elephant and Castle.

The girls had the whole top deck to themselves and were well mannered and sociable towards each other as they discussed their subjects.

Well done for showing the academy in a very positive light to members of the public in our local community."
