Our Year 10 students recently took part in an exciting and highly rewarding Mock Trial competition at the Inner London Crown Court. The day provided a fantastic opportunity for students to experience the workings of the legal system first-hand, inside a real courtroom setting.

What a fantastic trip to Harry Potter World with our Year 7's! The day was filled with magic and wonder, as they entered the fictional universe. The snow edition has really got us in the mood for winter at HGAED!

Today marks the last day of Anti-Bullying Week, and we’re learning how to recognise when someone might be experiencing bullying. Look out for changes in mood, behaviour, confidence, or friendships and always speak to a trusted adult if you’re worried about someone.  Video

Kings College London Help Year 7 Students Aspire to University

Year 7 King's event (2)We are working with Kings College London to widen participation at Russell Group Universities. Students will get the chance to work with student ambassadors and attend various activities run at Kings.

We launched this project on 17 September at an event for Year 7 to introduce them to university life, including an interactive quiz and discussion. We will be meeting all the students and parents prior to the first event at Kings in November.

Following this event we also met parents to outline the English department policy for reading and improving literacy levels. Kings College London were also at the evening to talk to parents about pathways to higher education.

Post 16 enrichment

We have also developed an enrichment programme to support post 16 students towards university and beyond.  Events include talks at LSE, theatre productions, a debating society, university visits, V&A talks, and working lunches – a chance to discuss events over lunch with staff and peers.
