What a fantastic trip to Harry Potter World with our Year 7's! The day was filled with magic and wonder, as they entered the fictional universe. The snow edition has really got us in the mood for winter at HGAED!

Harris Experience praised in The Times

Harris Experience event

With students in our Academy from Year 9 onwards taking part in Harris Experience, we are thrilled that The Times newspaper has published an article and editorial praising the programme.

Harris Experience, which has been running since 2013, broadens the academic, social and cultural experiences of some of our most able students to give them outstanding preparation for life at some of the country’s top universities.

The picture shows students at a Harris Experience masterclass on research skills and identifying contrasting views and bias in the UK press.

Ebony Houghton, Year 11, says: "I have been in Harris Experience since year 9. We have been to universities and events I wouldn't have experienced otherwise. There have also been chances to get involved in masterclasses and other activities. It has been interesting meeting with students from other academies and made me think and look at topics with a different perspective. It makes you more confident when you know you have been selected."
