Reading Mentor Scheme - Autumn Update

Reading mentor scheme (3)A committed group of Year 10 students has taken up the responsibility of acting as reading mentors, working one-to-one with Year 7 students who need extra help with reading.

The older students act as positive role models and provide the younger students with the opportunity to broaden their vocabulary, increase their general knowledge and understand how stories work through reading a wide range of exciting fiction.

Both groups of students have worked hard since September and the Year 7s really enjoy reading to their mentors and are showing fantastic progress as a result.

Well done to our reading mentors (listed below) and the Year 7 students for taking part. Our reading mentors are:
