Summer Extravaganza Trip - Book Your Place Now

Thorpe ParkDear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to invite your daughter to join the Summer Extravaganza Trip 2019: a 5-day, 4-night, thrill-seeking, high-adrenaline residential trip to Sussex and Surrey. This trip is for Years 7-9 only.

We will be staying at the stunning ‘The Mill’ farmhouse which is situated in the beautiful countryside of Forest Green, Surrey; the perfect rural retreat for a fantastic trip of a lifetime.

This trip is being run as a celebration for those students whose behaviour, punctuality and attendance are all outstanding.

The trip departs on Wednesday 12th June 2019 at 3.10pm (immediately after the Academy day finishes) and returns on Sunday 16th June 2019 at 12pm.

An itinerary is on the rear of the letter to parents, which outlines the morning, afternoon and evening activities including Splash World, Port Lympne Safari Park, Brighton SeaLife Aquarium, Thorpe Park (pictured) and Hollywood Bowl.

There are significant benefits to be gained from outdoor and adventurous educational trips, such as:

  • The opportunity to enjoy a healthy, outdoor physical activity in a new environment.
  • The chance to succeed and experience different challenges through learning new skills.
  • Developing self-awareness, self-confidence, commitment to working with others, resilience and a sense of achievement.
  • Improving and forming relationships with peer group, with other people and creating a better rapport with teachers which can often lead to better motivation in the classroom.

The cost of the trip is £249 and includes a full daily activity programme, full-board accommodation, all transport, travel/activity insurance, specialist equipment and instructors.

If you are interested in your daughter attending the trip then please complete the reply slip on the reverse of the letter to parents with a deposit of £49 and return ASAP to the Finance Officer. Full payment must be made by Thursday 28th February 2019 (interim payments of £50 by Friday 23rd November 2018, £50 by Friday 21st December 2018, £50 by Friday 25th January 2019 final payment of £50 by Thursday 28th February 2019).

There are only 28 spaces available for this trip and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis but also dependent on your son’s attendance, punctuality and behaviour records.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or queries on the Academy number or e-mail: m.kudliskis@harris-net.org.uk

Yours faithfully

Marcus Kudliskis, Trip Leader
