More handball victories

This evening the Harris Bulldogs handball team played away at All Saints Catholic School, Dagenham.

The first game was against an All Saints Year 10 team and the second games was against an All Saints Year 8 & 9 team.

This was by far the toughest test the Bulldogs had faced to date, with several key players missing through suspension, and up against defence-minded All Saints teams.

The Bulldogs were not at their best by any means with sloppy passing and the defence very wayward exposing gaps throughout both games.

Nevertheless, with a Bulldog minded spirit (and only playing their 3rd competitive match) both teams dug in and won both games:

HGAED A versus All Saints Year 10s: WON 7 - 1
HGAED B versus All Saint Year 8 & 9s: WON 7 - 3

Credit has to be given to both teams as they were playing teams a year or two above themselves with only Mayte and Gloria from Year 10 along with Bintu, Deztanie and Princess from Year 7.

'Lady of the Match' is shared between Halima and Billie: Halima for her attacking and drving force from the middle of the pitch and Billie for changing the flow of the game, coming on as a sub and scoring vital goals.

The Bulldogs next match is next Thursday against Barking Abbey School, the current National Champions.

This will definitely be a stern test for the Bulldogs, so wish them the best of luck!!

A HUGE thank-you to Kate Atwell who supported this evening’s match.
