Poems On The Rye - Award Winners

Our HGAED Poetry Competition for the end of 2022 was on the theme of ‘Home’. We had dozens of entries with many of them published on the HGAED Poetry Instagram Page ‘Poems on the Rye’ and put on display around the school.

The standard was excellent once more as we approach our two-year anniversary of poetry at HGAED, with almost 250 published poems during that time.

The winners for the competition were:

  • Carmen for ‘London’
  • Azariah for ‘Family Tree’
  • Bhavitra for ‘Book of Wonders’
  • Guinevere for ‘Doorways of Life’
  • and Zoe Horgan for ‘Paradise’.

This term’s poetry competition is on ‘The Power of Poetry’ and ties in with the Young Writers national competition, looking at things you would like to change in the world. Send entries in to Mr Jackson if you would like to enter and have them published.
