Launch of Scholars Programme and Harris Experience

This term we have had launch events for both the Harris Experience and Brilliant Club.

Harris Experience is a programme run through the Federation that supports students in their journey to university. The programme starts in Year 9 and continues through to the end of post 16.

Experience

This year the launch was held virtually, but we were able to celebrate in school, listen to presentations by some alumni at Oxford, and students from the Harris Experience Advanced (post 16). Students received their certificates and are now looking forward to events throughout the rest of the year.

Whilst we are only able to nominate ten students each year, we try to involve more of our amazing students when we are able, and numbers allow.

Great mindsWe also had an introduction to the Scholars Programme, run by Brilliant Club.  We have 14 students signed up for our first cohort and will have a second cohort in the Spring.

They will have a launch event at Sussex University, which will be followed up with six tutorials, delivered by a PhD student. Students submit a 2000-word essay, and then have a graduation event at a second University.
