Our Year 10 students recently took part in an exciting and highly rewarding Mock Trial competition at the Inner London Crown Court. The day provided a fantastic opportunity for students to experience the workings of the legal system first-hand, inside a real courtroom setting.

Today marks the last day of Anti-Bullying Week, and we’re learning how to recognise when someone might be experiencing bullying. Look out for changes in mood, behaviour, confidence, or friendships and always speak to a trusted adult if you’re worried about someone.  Video

Voices in a Million at Wembley Arena

V4After a rocky beginning, our trip to the OVO Arena at Wembley in March for the Voices in a Million event proved to be very positive for our pupils.

They were already very excited, but on reaching the arena their excitement heightened. Both the opportunity and experience of being part of such a fulfilling event showed our pupils’ courage, character and conscience.

The rewards of singing, rehearsing then performing with 6,000 other pupils and young people in front of family and friends was a tremendous encounter. The pupils taking part in this project were driven, resilient, passionate and determined in their endeavours to do themselves, the academy, their families and ‘VIAM 2024’ proud.

They absolutely succeeded. Their energy, strength, drive, tenacity and vocal power was amazing to see and hear as they performed every song with total confidence. Each pupil’s behaviour was exemplary.

We are humbly proud of the HGAED contingent that represented us – Maxima, Eliora, Eloise, Solomiia, Eunice, Alyssa, Davida, Jemimah, Yanna, Nena, Danniella, Isabel, Isla and Tyra.

HGAED students join 6,000 singers at the Voices in a Million event.
