Netball & Volleyball - Performance & Sportsmanship

Our netball teams and fixtures are in full swing, with both wins and losses. Our students should be very proud of their performance and sportsmanship.

Year 7 won 14-5 against Harris Academy Beckenham in the Harris Cup and reached the third round. Year 9 lost their first game against Kingsdale 3-7, but built amazing friendships and plans with Kingsdale students. We have many more fixtures for all year groups during the spring term!

Volleyball is a “calming mechanism”

By Kenzi, Year 11

In January, our volleyball team and I played against another team supported by the Charity Greenhouse Sports.

Although they were more experienced than us, we persevered and learnt a lot at the event. The first match ended 23-17 to them, but we were proud of the score, given the experience gap.

Volleyball is not just a sport – it is like a calming mechanism. I enjoy it because it’s a chance to forget everything else and play. It is so much fun. Coach Pri is also a great coach and person, as she is the backbone of the team. She has created a welcoming volleyball community and makes sure everyone has a great time.

I can’t wait to play against more teams!

Kenzi, Year 11
