Announcement

Year 13 Assessments - Monday 15th to Friday 26th November 2021

Dear Year 13 Parent/ Carer,

From Monday 15th November to Friday 26th November, all Year 13 students will sit assessments for most of their subjects.

Students are expected to attend tutor time and all lessons as normal but may take study leave on the morning of an afternoon exam. For students based at East Dulwich Girls, assessments will take place in the Main Hall at Harris East Dulwich Girls’ site, under formal exam conditions.

Click HERE to download the full Year 13 exam timetable.

Students are expected to attend each session where an assessment has been timetabled, according to the subjects they currently study.

The Year 13 November assessments are an important stage in your son/daughter’s Sixth Form education. They will give us an indication of progress made since the end of Year 12 and are an important predictor of likely grades at the end of Year 13. For vocational students, these exams are a trial run for formal external exams that they will sit in January 2022. We have made clear to Year 13 students that revision time and effort now is important. These assessments will form part of the evidence we use when providing predicted grades to UCAS for university applications. Please do encourage your Year 13 student to revise thoroughly and work hard to achieve the best outcome.

All students should arrive 15 minutes before the start of an assessment session and come fully prepared with all writing and specialist equipment. Morning exams start at 9am and afternoon exams at 1pm. The majority of exams will take place in the Main Hall, with some smaller exams taking place in the Conference Room. Students must be in full dress code, including lanyard and ID card. All exam regulations in relation to mobile phones, other electronic devices and conduct must be adhered to during these assessments. Students will be removed from assessments if they fail to follow these rules.

Should you have any questions or require clarification on any of the detail in this letter, please do get in touch. Yours sincerely,

Ms L Edwards l.edwards@harrisdulwichgirls.org.uk

Assistant Principal, Head of Sixth Form at East Dulwich Girls
