Year 7 Students Complete First Aid Training

All Year 7 students have now completed a first aid training course. We had arranged with St Johns Ambulance for our Year 7 students to take part in a first aid course as part of the Harris Passport.
 
Students were taught various first aid skills that they will be able to use around the academy and at home. The trainer was able to cover a range of topics such as slips, trips, bleeding and dealing with seizures. 
 
Students were taught how to put someone into a recovery position and how to assess a person’s injury. The students responded very well to the training and enjoyed themselves at the same time. 
 
St Johns also covered CPR. The students were given dummies to practice on and were able to support others in their group. One student Keira said: ‘I found the training fun and I now feel confident when dealing with first aid’.
