Boxing Club Builds Confidence and Community
Our after-school boxing sessions have really taken off this term, with around 20 students from across Key Stages 3 and 4 taking part each week. The non-contact boxing programme has helped students develop their fitness, coordination, and confidence but just as importantly, it has created a space where they can connect, socialise, and support one another. It has been fantastic to see such a strong sense of community forming through sport.
We are delighted to once again be working in partnership with 'Fight for Change', who are leading these sessions, and to have the ongoing support of London Sport, who are helping us explore ways to enhance our fitness provision even further. We are looking forward to using upcoming funding to refresh our fitness suite with new equipment, keeping students engaged, inspired, and motivated to stay active.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the possibility of introducing a second weekly boxing session, a pop-up boxing ring, and even a trip to the Fight for Change boxing gym all aimed at building confidence, self-esteem, and life skills. For many of our students, especially girls, boxing has become a powerful way to develop resilience, discipline, and self-belief while having fun and discovering a love for movement and fitness.
